To all my dear friends:
Hi! I'm now a 67 y/o retired general surgeon doing research on severely obese women with and without the Metabolic Syndrome through friends affiliated with the Univ. of Utah in Salt Lake City. I am divorced, but still see my ex-wife frequently. We were married for 35 years and had an amazing family. My oldest is a professor of art and animation in Chicago. My daughter graduated from Yale in theater arts/acting and from the Manhattan School of Music in classical voice. She is a Tony Award winner and a Grammy Nominee. You can hear her sing on YouTube or on her website: Lisahopkinsseegmiller.com. My two younger boys are mechanical engineers. One is getting his PhD at MIT and the other is a professor of mechanical engineering at UCLA and recently got the Presidential Early Career Award in Science and Engineering (PECASE). We are all active Mormons. I am, however, a voluntarily closeted heterosexual cross-dresser probably due to DES, lead, and DDT exposure in utero while my mother was living in China Lake, CA. I look and feel fine but have some health issues: arthritis in my feet slows me down; too much visceral fat; numb feet NOT from diabetes; sleep apnea; and some stubborn acne. I still like to sing in my church choir, and I still play the violin. I have developed an interest in colonial and revolutionary war history and am writing a screenplay on the life of James Otis, Jr. a role model for John Adams, and the man who attacked the legality of writs of assistance, unrestricted search warrants, in 1761. I also volunteer as an indexer of vital statistics and family history records.
